This fall is an exciting time for me and of course for fans of Into the Night. I’ve got three amazing readings coming up that I hope you’ll consider attending if you’re in the DC/Baltimore area.
The Inner Loop
Tuesday, September 15 at 7:30 p.m. in the Colongy Club, 3118 Georgia Ave NW, Washington, D.C.
At a special outdoor reading to usher in the fall season, I’ll be joining other writers:
Fiction: Paula Whyman, Vickie Fang
Nonfiction: Brandel France de Bravo, Rhea DeRose-Weiss, Laurie Lesser
Poetry: Noa Saunders, Shenandoah Sowash
For a night of literary stylings. If you’re around the DC area, check it out! The reading is free.
Fall for the Book
Urban Fantasy Panel: Layering Worlds, Writing the Supernatural Among the Natural
Monday, September 28 @ 4:30 pm in the Johnson Center Gold Room at George Mason University’s Fairfax, VA Campus
Panelists Jenna Black, author of the Nikki Glass series, Carrie Vaughn, author of the Kitty Norville series, and Christopher Farnsworth of The President’s Vampire join moderator and author of Into the Night, Suzanne Rigdon, in discussing what it’s like writing urban fantasy based in the DC metro area. How do they build elements of the fantastical—witches, vampires, magic and more—on top of real cityscapes? How do they make the paranormal feel real, and what keeps writers coming back to these complex worlds?
